On Wednesday night, I made kimchi hot dogs, which were totally inspired by Asia Dog and this guy. Last week, with our napa cabbage and some kohlrabi, my friend made the kimchi, following David Lebovitz's recipe here. The hardest part about the kimchi recipe, was finding the Korean chili powder. Even in Korea Town, I had a hard time. Fortunately, we stopped by M2M, near Columbia, and found it there.
Okay, so how do you make kimchi hot dogs? Grill your dogs, and buns like normal. Spread some spicy mustard (I used Coleman's - super hot) on the bun, place some kimchi inside, then the dog, squirt some spicy ketchup (mix ketchup and sriracha) and sprinkle with potato chips on top. Easy peasy. It's definitely a twist on the classic hotdog. You should give it a try.
